Rachel Antin
Hi! I’m Rachel! I like to cook, mom, play tennis, and run my nonprofit organization, One Day to Remember. I grew up in South Bend, IN, but moved to Pittsburgh for nursing school in 2008. With Pittsburgh roots from my dad’s side, I fell in love with the city and sealed the deal when I met my husband.
Cooking has always been a big part of my life, and being in the kitchen as a child with my mom and grandmothers helped us feel connected. Like the typical Jewish parents and grandparents, recipes weren’t an exact science. As I grew older, I began experimenting with my own flavors and adding in those from memory. Since 2010, I have been the Girl that Foodies and started actually trying to write down recipes to share casually with friends.
Two kids, a husband, and a dog later, food is still a huge part of my everyday life. I am a busy mom of two, so no, I do not cook every day, but I cook a lot and love having the kids in the kitchen with me. My recipes are meant for everyone, and I hope that I can share my passion, love of food, and inspire you to get in the kitchen and create your own memories together.
In the past two years, I’ve also incorporated gluten-free recipes into my cooking. After years of feeling tired and dealing with brain fog, going gluten-free has made me feel like a new person! I love experimenting with gluten-free ingredients that taste great while still being healthy and family-friendly.
I’m so grateful you are on this journey with me and can’t wait to see what you make!
